Valard is currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to maintain vehicles in our Timmins Location. This position will be Monday - Friday, day shifts in a shop/garage environment with on-road/site repairs as needed.
 
Requirements
 
Your Job:
 
  • Examine various systems within cars to diagnose problems.
  • Run computerized diagnostic tests to help identify components that might be malfunctioning.
  • Troubleshoot issues and fix them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Perform routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to optimize vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Pitch optional repairs or preventative maintenance
  • Keep detailed records on all work performed.
 
What we require:
 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have boom repair experience
  • Certified Heavy Equipment Technician (OCOT or other Provincial Certification)
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
 

Labourer with Class 5 License

Reporting to the crew foreman this position has minimal experience in Telecommunications/ Construction. 

Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

Hydrovac Swamper/Labourer Position

Reporting to the Collaborative Services Manager, the Hydrovac Swamper will be responsible for safe operation of the hydrovac unit as directed by the Valard Hydrovac Operator.

Experienced Hydrovac Operator

Reporting to the Collaborative Services Manager, the Hydrovac Operator will be responsible for safe operation and daily maintenance of the hydrovac units. 

Utility Person

Supporting a variety of job functions, the employee is responsible for performing the day to day manual tasks on the project. 

Journeymen Powerline Technician
  • Red Seal Distribution Lineman
  • Minimum 6 years distribution experience
  • Living in Toronto Area would be an asset
