Hydrovac Swamper/Labourer Position

- Wear PPE at all times
- Safely perform hydrovac excavation around utilities on job sites across Ontario
- Provide excellent customer service as a representative of the Valard brand
- Troubleshoot issues and equipment, including preventative maintenance
- Follow all legislation and regulations set out by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Valard’s Policies & Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform pre-trip inspections & equipment inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance
- Proper use and inspection of bonding equipment
- Perform general housekeeping to ensure equipment is clean and operating properly
- Interpret stakeouts, drawings and schematics
- Knowledge and understanding of traditional locates and ALA
- Work as a member of the team by assisting other members when required
- Complete client’s site-specific training as required
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, peers, and clients
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Must have valid G license
- DZ / AZ license is considered an asset
- Minimum 1 year of hydrovac excavation experience required
- Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.), remote hose
- Values safe work practices and holds others accountable for working in a safe manner
- Hard working, team-player attitude with attention to detail and above average customer service skills
- Candidates must be available for on-call work and occasional evenings and weekends
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record / CVOR record (abstract) and criminal background check prior to employment commencing
- MUST be familiar with Vactor HXX/QX and/or Westech Wolf hydrovac trucks
Reporting to the crew foreman this position has minimal experience in Telecommunications/ Construction.
