JET Equipment & Tools Ltd., is a national supplier of tool and equipment product lines for the Canadian market. Products include: abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling, hydraulic lifting equipment and outdoor power equipment. As a competitive leader, our business is always growing and evolving and we are currently accepting resumes for a Human Resources Coordinator. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this position will provide administrative support to the overall Human Resource function. This position will administer and maintain the Human Resource practices and policies, ensuring their compliance with company standards and applicable legislation. The HR coordinator responds to inquiries regarding benefits and other general information.

Responsibilities:
 
• Provides support to the HR Director with respect to the overall HR function;
• Assists with the recruitment process: from developing job postings, advertising opportunities, screening resumes, responding to candidates, setting up interviews, administering tests, preparing and presenting offers;
• Maintains the career website page and assists in the development of;
• Monitors and follows up on employee health or injury related absences. Using a detail oriented, and resourceful approach investigates, monitors and responds to information requests from third parties or insurers.
• Supports and coaches efficiently line management to ensure application of human resources practices, legislation, programs, policies and regulations for effective and efficient operations.
• Researches, analyzes, makes recommendations and compiles human resources statistics and practices.
• Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of human resources practices, legislation and policies to respond to employee and management inquiries.
• Supports the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of Human Resource programs and initiatives.
• Conducts orientation/ onboarding and benefit training sessions;
• Manages the e-learning, performance management and HRIS system;
• Provides day-to-day support to all staff on benefit and HR related questions;
• Provide back up for benefit and payroll administration;
• Administer medical leaves and other leave requests;
• Provide support in the development of programs and policies
• Other projects and responsibilities will be assumed with experience and opportunity.


Qualifications:
 
• CHRP designation an asset
• Union experience an asset
• General knowledge of Human Resources theories, practices, legislation and resources across Canada
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, data based software, publishing software, presentation software, email and web browsers;
• Outstanding interpersonal skills;
• Creative but with a business flair;
• Strong aptitude for numbers and analyzing information


Education:
 
• 2-3 years of progressively responsible human resources experience and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in business or human resources management or equivalent combination of education and experience
