Reporting directly to Head HSEC Excellence, the HSEC Excellence Specialist provides support to HSEC Excellence Management Team.
 
Comprehensive understanding of all HSEC Excellence requirements for the involvement, implementation and maintenance of our projects, plans and systems.   Ensuring that the content of plans/ projects meets expectations in the form of resource manuals, support documents, or project management. Extracts detailed information and formulates summaries, adds value added research, problem solves to provide key messaging, and concise data analysis. Responsible for achieving consensus and gathering feedback on information with Site HSEC Leads, Subject Matter Experts, or Heads of Practice.
 
Coordinates collection of measurable activities (gap analyses, projects, etc) from global assets and assesses content. If the information is delayed, incorrect or insufficient based on analysis, the incumbent will contact the HSEC Lead to inquire, question or provide advice on the direction and expectation.
 
Analyze, extract, and problem solve for the root cause to gain value from large, disconnected, unstructured data sets. Use the information learned to design opportunities for improvement.
 
Responsible for building and implementing processes and structures for independency and workload measurement in transforming current infrastructure. These infrastructures need to be proven and tested for simplicity and understanding within our 43 global assets to ensure understanding and promote correct, frequent usage.
 
Analyze, Investigate risk / incident trends at departmental, country and site level to identify and escalate based on risk.
 
Present, coach and train global HSEC Leads on key topics and communication strategies to ensure departmental updates to assets.
 
Coach and be the first line Departmental problem solver for HSEC Leads and Support staff on new protocols, project progress, and software modifications or updates.
 
As the HSEC Data Expert, responsible for knowing the data expectations in the software, able to identify if the calculations are incorrect and to assist the individuals at the site to recalculate by coaching/educating them.   If the direction from Corporate is not relevant to the asset, escalate to the Manager, HSEC Governance & Risk to appeal.
 
Proficient in software systems to create user friendly tools and reports for the Department.
 
Global Travel which includes remote, high altitude, severe weather condition environments (10% of schedule).  
 
Hours of work will accommodate 5-8 very early morning and late night teleconferences/webinars per month due to the number of time zones we cross.
 
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Undergraduate degree in Safety, Ergonomics, Engineering, Bioscience, etc.
  • Certified Safety Professional preferred or in process
  • 7 years’ experience in health & safety
  • 5 years influencing and collaborating
  • Worked in a Unionized environment
  • Strong co-ordination and collaboration skills, proficient communicator
  • Proven record of high performance based on a result focused approach
  • Strong problem solving skills experienced in incident/ injury investigation
  • Experience working in a multisite, multicultural environment, production, and webinar management
  • High degree of competency with technology (SharePoint, Microsoft office, video
  • Resourceful, innovative, creative professional
  • Event & conference planning, coordinating, scheduling for large scale, high profile affairs
