The Senior Investigator engage, supervise, coordinate and coach RGM investigators and security response team members, including specialists from external law enforcement personnel in the execution of internal/external investigations and intelligence-based crime prevention security operations. Required to manage assigned operational results and solve complex investigations.
 
Furthermore, provide specialist support/guidance to the Senior Supervisor Investigations and the Human Resources and Legal department during complex criminal, labor and forensic investigations related to RGM personnel and property. While abiding by and implementing the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
 
Role Details
 
Engage, coordinate and supervise the investigative and support security personnel in maintaining the operational effectiveness of an intelligence-based investigations program.
 
  • Prioritizing work and set and follow-up tasks with the team and own caseload on a daily and ongoing basis, working with the investigative personnel to identify and manage changing priorities.
  • Efficiently overseeing and coordinating the Investigation Team’s portfolio of cases, to ensure they are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  • Effective and high-quality resolution of investigations related to security incidents in accordance with the appropriate local/international legal framework, RGM Security Investigations Procedures, and quality standards.
  • Interacting with senior law enforcement and representatives of governmental and investigative agencies.
  • Audit and measure investigative systems, functions, and procedures during the case supervision process.
  • Coordinate special operations and after-hour observation duties for the investigations team, in conjunction with external law enforcement agencies, in the prevention and detection of crime.
 
Engage and coordinate the investigative and support security personnel, in conjunction with the technical security section personnel, to establish a focused surveillance program.  
 
  • Coordinate the Focussed Surveillance Programme, by analyzing, identifying high-risk areas and suspicious trends, in conjunction with the Senior Security Supervisor – Investigations & Security Systems Administrator.
  • Establish relations with government and private sector agencies aiding in the successful resolution of cases relating to RGM.
  • Coordinate the monitoring/surveillance, using the internet and other sources, to ensure that investigation personnel is tracking information and locating individuals.
  • Ensure compliance with the Republic of Suriname criminal and civil justice regulations.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and training to the investigative personnel in operational surveillance information, suspects, and incidents handling.
 
Coordinate the training and administrative requirements to maintain the operational readiness of the investigations program.
 
  • Development of the investigative personnel, including recommendations to the Senior Supervisor Investigations on aspects of staff development.
  • Assist the Senior Supervisor Security - Investigations to design and maintain RGM Investigations procedures and manuals in support of the Investigations function.
  • Coordinate operational use of the security incident and investigations software to ensure efficient and accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • Developing a comprehensive needs analysis for the investigative personnel.
  • Oversee the proper care and handling of investigations equipment such as cameras, computers, radios and other equipment.
  • Coordinate the investigation reports, evidence, and reports program.
  • Submit weekly investigation reports, security incident alerts, and tracking/statistical data.
 
Qualifications
 
What You Need to Succeed 
 
  • Highest level of High School Education or equivalent work experience gained in leadership roles in the government and/or private sector will be taken into consideration.
  • Diploma or degree in security management will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years' investigations experience, with minimum of 4 years' experience in a supervisory role. 
  • Proven and demonstrated career in a law enforcement agency in an investigative capacity. Or proven and demonstrated career as a corporate or private investigator.
  • Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced atmosphere and work under pressure.
  • Ability to conduct research into complex business processes and systems i.e. procurement, processing, and accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, written and oral. 
  • No criminal record. 
  • Valid Surinamese drivers' license (B-E).
  • Valid 'Buitengewoon Agent van Politie' permit.
