Senior Planner - Mill Maintenance

To develop, implement and oversee the maintenance programs and schedules for process plant with occasional support for mine and site services systems. 
 
Role Details
 
To manage systems, programs and processes for the maintenance planning function:
 
  • Coordinate with the reliability responsible personnel, the development of reliability and maintenance strategies for critical equipment.   
  • Ensure that all critical assets have appropriate maintenance activities planned, with BOMs, routings and PM schedules. 
  • Certify system data definition quality. 
  • Complies with established IAMGOLD process and quality standard standards related to maintenance. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to maintenance work scheduling. 
  • Establish plans for work requests that are within the established planning guidelines. 
  • Ensure that a clean and quality backlog is always available for the work scheduling process. 
  • Arrange for all tools, necessary permits and any contract personnel (if required) to be available prior to scheduling. 
  • Prepare schedules to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and within budgeted guidelines. 
  • Provides analysis of work outcomes with guidance from immediate supervisor and/or a mentor 
  • Support, coordinate and control the quality of the work executed by his planning team and data definition specialists. 
  • Responsible for generating KPIs and accountable for his indicators, using Viziya Analytics as official measures.  
  • Reports for the department compliance to the maintenance work management process to the managers 
  • Support the negotiation of the maintenance contracts for mill, mine and general services 
  • During the Construction and pre-commissioning phases, support the implementation of the maintenance system at the mine for the MARC contractors and other mobile fleet maintenance contracts. 
 
Prepares reports, provides information to management and completes documentation related to maintenance planning:  
 
  • Provide assistance in the costing and budgeting process, using system data, in a zero based approach. 
  • Prepare forecasts for future maintenance activities on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance records and bills of materials are up to date and accurate.  
  • Answers queries and handles requests related to maintenance which includes problem solving and judgment 
  • Develop, provide and maintain a timeline for all maintenance projects. 
Manage a team of maintenance planning personnel:
 
  • Directs the activities of a team including defining and delegating work assignments 
  • Acts as a communication linchpin with the team and models the organization’s values 
  • May mentor or train less experienced employees on operating standards, procedures and methods 
  • Contributes to the development and revision of policies and procedures for the work unit / team 
 
Qualifications
 
What You Need to Succeed 
 
  • Certified journeyman or other trade certificate (i.e. Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma).  
  • At least 10 years of maintenance experience with mining/processing experience an asset  
  • Successful supervision experience  
  • At least 5 years of Oracle eAM experience, with in depth knowledge of eAM data definition. 
  • Experience in the implementation of that system is an asset.  
  • Ability to apply basic principles and techniques of supervision.  
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation.  
  • Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.  
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.  
  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.  
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Programs.  
  • Strong organizational skills.

The purpose of the Supervisor Mine is to supervise the mine crew and ensure production targets and schedules are met as forecast.

Senior Engineer, Mining

The Senior Mining Engineer takes part in the development of economic studies of mining projects (approach, prefeasibility, feasibility).

To ensure optimization of the Mill process is maintained through effective management and technical support to the Operations group as well as external support groups including Mine Technical Services and Mine Operations.
