Reporting to the General Manager, you will develop and execute projects to meet the site’s strategic business plans and safe production goals. You will be responsible for direct tactical and strategic operating plans at the Red Lake Operation. As an effective leader, you will be charged to develop and build the capability of the team. You will lead the team to operate in a climate of continuous improvement, being accountable and ensuring work is aligned with business critical success factors.
 
In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, positively influencing the Planning functions and shape the culture to develop an engaged and enabled team while ensuring a safe, productive, cost efficient, quality, sustainable and disciplined approach to work.
 
You will successfully lead the team in:
 
  • Ensuring a safe system of work to protect the health and safety of people and the environment in accordance with statutory and Evolution requirements
  • Ensuring an engaged culture, inclusive and diverse culture, where everyone is motivated to their full potential
  • Managing performance targets and plans aligned to the business targets
  • Developing and optimising the mine plan from the strategic to the tactical level
  • Project development from conception to implementation including designing unique solutions for mine plans, cost management, reporting, optimization, automation projects, and ensuring technical quality
  • Improve productivity and reduce costs across all the planning processes, systems and standards
 
About you
 
You will be a forward-thinking leader with a strong focus on safety, inclusion and diversity, productivity and maximising the benefit of technology. Your solid understanding of underground mining methods and engineering practices will be supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in delivering outstanding results. Previous experience in leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary diverse teams through effective communication coupled with strong operational discipline is required for the success of this role.
 
With exposure to technical services principals, notably overall long term integrity of fixed assets and a strong understanding of plan development/implementation, you will be confident in working through change management in a complex environment.
 
A performance and achievement orientated professional, your technical strengths with significant underground mine operations experience with large complex organisations will be complemented by excellent engagement and communication skills, high energy levels, and an action oriented attitude tempered by simplicity. An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and sustainable development is a must.
 
As the successful candidate you will have the following:
 
  • Mining Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with Ontario Professional Engineering designation (or ability to achieve)
  • Underground mine operations experience;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high-performance technical services team
