Intermediate Geochemist

- Providing support for geochemical projects, specifically in oil sands and mining environments
- Conducting geochemical characterization studies of mine wastes (ore, waste rock, gases, and water), radiological assessments, and other environmental investigations
- Mentoring junior staff with data analysis and reporting
- Coordinating and liaising with laboratories on geochemical and mineralogical analyses
- Planning and coordination of field and laboratory testing activities
- Collection, management, and analysis of geochemical data
- Data interpretation and conceptual model development
- Report preparation including figures, tables, and presentations
- Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus

- Advanced degree in Geochemistry (MSc or PhD) with a focus on Geology, Environmental Science, Geological Engineering, or related field - ideally with a strong quantitative background
- 5 to 10 years applied work experience in geochemical assessments within natural or contaminated sites
- Strong understanding of mineralogy, geology, and chemistry
- Academic knowledge of surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, and hydrogeology
- Familiarity with industry-standard modeling software such as PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, and GoldSim would be considered an asset
- Strong data manipulation abilities including experience with data management tools (i.e., Excel, EQuIS, Access)
