EXPLORATION COORDINATOR

- Provide safety leadership and develop and maintain the Exploration team’s safety systems including the creation and review of procedures and standards in line with company guidelines and industry best practice;
- Manage activities at the worksite (logistics for drill moves, trail construction, quality of technical data) and assist with administrative items such as scheduling, budgeting and reporting as the project proceeds to achieve project objectives;
- Supervision of professional geologists, technicians and contractors in collection, collation, analysis, interpretation and communication of geological data;
- Assist to develop concepts to initiate, drive and deliver both near mine and outside exploration targets;
- Assist as directed in completion of budgets and AFE requests for exploration activities;
- Monitor and coordinate the creation of all 3D block models for mineral resources near the mine exploration programs and in regional exploration programs;
- Ensure systems for management of QAQC of exploration data inputs into geological and source models to ensure compliance with all company, organizational and regulatory reporting standards (NI43-101 compliant);
- Accurate and timely completion and release of all Exploration internal and external regulatory reporting;
- Mentor, train and coach to aid in the continuing development of geologists and technicians;
- Focus on departmental and inter-departmental relationships to promote constructive communication and support positive working environments.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree and Registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) with the P.Geo Designation;
- 10 years’ experience in gold mining exploration;
- 5 years’ management experience in gold exploration and/or gold mining environment;
- Understanding of 3D Block Modeling and geostatistical processes;
- Strong computer knowledge including Datamine, GIS Software and Microsoft Office products;
- Capacity to coach, guide, influence and develop others;
- Strong written and verbal communication;
- Exceptional time management skills.
