JET Equipment & Tools Ltd., is a national supplier of tool and equipment product lines for the Canadian market. Products include: abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling, hydraulic lifting equipment and outdoor power equipment. As a competitive leader, our business is always growing and evolving and we are currently accepting resumes for a Senior Business Systems Analyst. Reporting to the Information Technology Director, this position is responsible for supporting the company’s overall information technology architecture (internal and external). This includes the day-to-day management of the information systems including experience supporting a distribution system, software programs, server maintenance, report writing and technical support to end users of JET, and its related companies. This position will serve as the backup for our Information Technology Director during absence periods and this position reports directly to the Information Technology Director.
 

Responsibilities:
 
• Detailed analysis and requirements gathering of company operations, business processes and flows in order to evaluate and determine system requirements and solutions;
• Assist Client Project Manager in establishing project scope, rollout phases, and setting expectations;
• Document, design, confirm, build, configure, integrate, test, train and implement complete ERP system corresponding to agreed upon specifications;
• Perform software tailoring to customize and develop various enhanced functionality;
• Work collaboratively with Project Manager and project team to identify issues/risks, propose solutions, and adjust to shifting priorities while maintaining project pace/schedule;
• Develop customized business process documentation, support User Acceptance Testing, and provide end user training;
• Test entire system components and interfaces, provide go-live and initial post go-live support;
• Support the ERP system and IT infrastructure including servers, databases, software, LAN/WAN, email, protocol, network and telephone systems;
• Perform system management functions including database management, system monitoring, reporting, analysis, back-ups, preventative maintenance, patch applications, capacity planning and upgrades;
• Plan and deliver an organized approach to system conversions of business units;
• Implement system procedures and train end users;
• Responsible for integrating business systems within the corporate information technology environment;
• Trouble shooting of problems and providing IT resolutions;
• Work with user departments in the design and delivery of financial and other management reports from our ERP system;
• Work with department managers to understand their operations and provide IT solutions which support their business needs and goals;
• Enforce strong security, privacy and change controls in all systems;
• Provide leadership for system enhancements, improvements and conversions of various business units;
• Review departmental requests for technology and makes appropriate recommendation(s);
• Manage department during the IT Director’s absence
• Have the ability to develop into the Manager of the department when the opportunity arises.


Qualifications:

Education:
 
• A post secondary education in the field of Computer Science;
• A minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in a similar environment supporting multiple locations and business units and a wholesale distribution system;
• Knowledge and experience with ERP, Windows, IBM Risk 6000 platform, Linux, Unix, Unidata, Access, Crystal reports and Microsoft applications;
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen; understanding of full cycle operational flows and interrelation between functional modules;
• General understanding of communications – network, modems, internet, other lines of data communication;
• Experience with Ecommerce, Crystal Reports, web-application and mobile technology are all highly desirable
