Job Description
 
Working within the John Crane Canada Engineering Services team, the Jr Application Engineer will directly support Drafting and Designing office and Aftermarket Technical Sales Teams by providing sound engineering analysis and review, responding to customer inquiries, and engaging with other members of John Crane's highly respected global engineering resources.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
 
  • Applications engineering involving proper selection of Mechanical Seal designs, FEA analysis as required, arrangements and materials for specific end-user service conditions
  • Assisting with Mechanical Seal, Seal Support System, Coupling, and Filtration Product design and specifications
  • Performing detailed Failure Analysis of Mechanical Seals and generating technical reports for customer review
  • Providing technical engineering support to the Sales Team
  • Validate assembly drawings, BOM's, and manufacturing drawings, which will include checking dimensions, tolerances and all other pertinent manufacturing drawing information, incorporating John Crane Canada standards
  • Assisting with customer training programs
  • Back-up support for on-site engineers and technical sales representatives
  • Preparation of proposal Mechanical Seal layout drawings based on selection

The Individual
 
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Ability to obtain a P. Eng. license or C.E.T.
  • Previous work / exposure to Oil & Gas or other industrial settings is preferred.
  • Exposure to Rotating Equipment is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and keen to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of presenting to large groups and public speaking.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, systems and mechanical seals preferred.
  • Some familiarity with current international standards relating to mechanical seals will be considered an asset.
  • Eager to learn and grow as a professional.

Customer Service Representative III, Stoney Creek Canada

The Customer Service Representative III assists John Crane Canada customers with all aspects of purchases and repairs of Mechanical Seals.
