Reporting to the Indigenous relations team director and managers:
 
• Lead by example to ensure the highest standards of safety, good business practices, and ethics in all Company activities.
• Responsible for the coordination requirements of Valard project communications efforts with Indigenous and other community interests. Efforts are to be planned and scheduled to meet project timelines.
• Work directly with the Indigenous and other community interests to:
- Act as key team community communication in ensuring that community leadership and related stakeholders are abreast of all project related developments across the entire program (and more importantly within the affected regions) during all phases of the project.
- Provide information about project plans to affected communities.
- Engage communities so that the Project Team understands community concerns about the project.
- Support ROW Team and Project Team efforts to address project-related concerns identified by the communities.
- Negotiate consultation protocols which reflect Company operating practices, as necessary.
- Complete specifically requested consultation and ensure letter(s) of support is received in a timely manner.
- Identify and facilitate mitigation of infringements
- Maximize community participation in project consultation opportunities, including Elders involvement.
- Keep the Project Team apprised of political or social issues that may affect the project.
- Identify and forward issues or concerns to the Project Management team immediately and provide recommendations.
- Support the project team in delivering on Indigenous Participation Plan (IPP) commitments and identify opportunities and areas of improvement to reach employment and contracting target expectations
• Bring forward information to Project Manager and Director, Indigenous Relations any information about resources that Valard may need or a community may require to participate effectively in project consultation.
• Work with Community Liaison resources to ensure there is good communication regarding project schedule expectations, employment opportunities Ensure policy and operating practice issues affecting our relationship with Indigenous or other communities are identified to Project Manager and Director, Indigenous Relations
• Locations will be as required across the project
• Familiarity with community, members and/or territory is an asset
• Accommodations will be provided by Valard
• Transportation will be provided from your home community to the camp accommodations and then at the end of your shift transportation will be provided back to your community by Valard
 
A valid Class G license is mandatory, while holding a Class A or Class B license is an asset.
