Lakehead University’s Thunder Bay Campus invites applications for one to two tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, and one to two Limited Term Appointments. The academic rank of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Candidates must be eligible for licensing with any Canadian Law Society.
 
The Faculty of Law welcomes applications from outstanding established and emerging scholars with a J.D/LL.B, and a graduate degree in law or a cognate discipline, with a broad range of research and teaching interests. Applicants may wish to indicate their scholarly interests in respect of core curriculum areas and the Faculty’s three mandate areas in Indigenous and Aboriginal Law, Rural/small town practice and Natural Resources and Environmental Law. Given our commitment to our Indigenous partners and students, we particularly welcome applications from Indigenous scholars from a broad range of specializations.  Without limiting the call for applications, the Faculty notes a particular interest in applications in the areas of family law and environmental law.Appointments will ordinarily commence on August 1, 2021. 
 
The Bora Laskin Faculty of Law is known for its innovative curriculum with mandatory courses in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law implemented in 2013. At the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, practice skills learning is integrated into the curriculum of substantive courses.  The Law Society of Ontario approved the Integrated Practice Curriculum (IPC) in 2013 for the law school to serve as a leader and model in providing legal practice skills as part of the J.D. program.
