Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for 3 tenure-track faculty appointments in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences/School of Nursing.  The academic rank of the appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate. The positions will commence on August 1, 2021.
 
The successful candidate will have an unrestricted RN license with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold a PhD, preferably in nursing, have at least one graduate degree in nursing, and have a specific area of focus in nursing practice. Consideration will also be given to candidates who are completing a PhD. The ideal candidate will have baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing teaching experience and evidence of nursing scholarship. In particular, a successful record, or promise, of externally-funded research and the ability to develop a vibrant program of research is desired. Applications from individuals with a specialization or interest in Northern/Rural Nursing, Indigenous health, older adult, maternal/child health, mental health, or nursing sciences are particularly being sought.  Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of course delivery is highly desired.
 
The School of Nursing has offered undergraduate degrees in nursing since 1965, and has approximately 650 undergraduate students, including those enrolled in a Compressed 3-year BScN or in a 4-year BScN in collaboration with Confederation College. The School of Nursing also offers a Native Nurses Entry Program and is a member of the 9-university Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. The School of Nursing offers graduate courses leading to a Lakehead University MPH and is anticipating the initial offering of a Master of Nursing Program for fall 2021.
