Local Deck Driver

Our Flat Deck Driver is responsible for completing all types of flat deck freight deliveries and pickups. Readily work and cooperate with all customers to ensure a high level of customer service. Complete all paperwork as required for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficently load and deliver customer product
- Safely operate truck and perform pre & post trip inspections
- Complete all necessary shipping documents to ensure accurate freight management
- Cooperate with all customers to maintain a high level of customer serviceHook/un
- hook trailers (cranking dollies), climb in/out of tractor, secure customer product by strap or chain freight
- Tarp when required
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle
- Maintain logs of working hours as stated by federal regulations
- Approved tractor for super B deck operation for owner operator applicants
- Support all Safety & Health initiatives for the safety of all drivers, customers and other terminal employees by following all safety policies and procedures including the incident reporting system
- Super B experience an asset
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to perform physical requirements of this type of work.
- Valid Class 1/AZ Driver’s License with air brake endorsement in good standing.
- Experience with all types of pickup and delivery activities.
- Ability to work independently and with a minimum of supervision.
- Employees must commit to perform all work in a safe manner and comply with all Gardewine safe work policies, practices and procedures.

Trailer/Tractor Mechanic
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, this position is responsible for all types of routine maintenance on our Tractor fleet.
Forman Dock
The Foreman will carry out all the supervisory activities of the cross dock operation through a team of dockworkers and lead hands; additionally, the Foreman will partner with the terminal support team and drivers to ensure operational excellence.
