The Child and Youth worker shall promote Magnetawan First Nation’s goals and objectives, maintain the level of professionalism expected by Magnetawan First Nation as outlined in the policies and procedure manuals, and uphold the ethics of the position. In support of Magnetawan First Nation’s goal of providing quality services, Child and youth worker shall continuously strive to improve operations and streamline work processes.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
The child & youth worker must possess the following qualifications:
 
  • The incumbent must also be knowledgeable of a holistic approach to individual and Community Health legislation, theories, practices and procedures as well as Traditional Medicine and medical terminology
  • Post secondary education or equivalent training is recommended
  • Must have current advanced First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training certificate
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and a Class B driver’s license
  • Clean Drivers abstract
  • Clean Criminal Record
  • Working knowledge of current trends in health education, disease prevention, practices and programs.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Office word Administration
  • Deliver work plan set out by health director
  • Reporting
  • Collaborate with members of the health team
  • Network with Service providers
  • Actively participate in drafting and implementing community need assessments (Emergency Response Plan, Pandemic plans, Communicable Disease Response plan)
  • Collaborate with NNADAP, Building Healthy Communities, Healthy Child Development, Brighter futures workers for workshop deliveries
  • Submit reports quarterly as needed as per contribution agreements
  • Collect Data to generate reports
  • Confidential Client files up to date
  • Perform other duties that are requested
  • Maintain Confidentiality at all times
  • Support breastfeeding nutrition
  • Support during prenatal and postnatal
 
Data Collection and Reports
 
1) Responsible for all written correspondence, filing of essential records including student personnel files
2) Responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures in relation to the summer student office are up to date, including all relevant forms and reports.
3) Must ensure that all statistical and data related information is maintained and submitted to appropriate funders. By the fourth of each month, collect information and submit to Management for review.
 
Quality Management
 
  • Assist Quality Management Team to identify ways of maximizing the use of financial and human resources.
  • Maintain work orders and logs in relation to Finance/Quality Management.
  • Participate in the following training provided for Quality Management o Quality Planning,
  • Flow Charting,
  • Writing Policies & Procedures, o Internal Auditing and
  • Corrective/Preventative Action.
  • Assist Quality Management Team with introducing the new systems and procedures for Employees.
  • Monitor the application of Quality Management systems and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend revisions to systems and procedures as they relate to apprenticeship programs.
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Report directly to the Health Director
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
While performing the duties of this job, the C&Y worker will typically be in an office setting and/or community setting and is frequently required to operate during flexible work hours/schedule, a telephone, a computer, file and retrieve written documents, and work overtime when required. The physical demands for the above include: standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, and bending.
 

OATC Driver and Medical Transportation Driver

OATC Driver and Medical Transportation driver needed. Applicant to provide clear abstract (for insurance purposes) CPIC and Class B license.
