Maintenance Planner

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Projects, Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations and policies is of primary importance with this position.
  • Performing repairs and doing preventative maintenance by following job procedures and using accepted industry practices are a necessary part of this position.
  • Following maintenance directives from the Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent, Mine Captain absence.
  • Planning jobs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner are important duties of this position.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES PERFORMED
 
  • Develop maintenance strategies that ensure production goals are maintained.
  • Maintain up to date history for each piece of equipment.
  • Schedule work orders related to routine maintenance (predictive and preventive) and corrective maintenance, identifying, and securing the required resources (maintainers, materials, spare parts, tools, instruments, and equipment), time involved, safety recommendations, procedures, and technical information.
  • Select and prioritize each work order.
  • Monitor and control the backlog.
  • Develop and validate with operations the weekly maintenance schedule.
  • Close work orders. 
  • Analyze the deviations reported by maintenance supervisors, identifying the causes and propose corrective actions to minimize and / or update maintenance plans.
  • Suggest updates of Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Associated Part Lists (APL’s) based on information supplied by field maintenance and supplies.
  • Maintain a high commitment to personal safety and integrity of the environment and equipment during the planning of work orders.
  • Coordinate the activities of Parts Coordinators to ensure alignment with Planning, Scheduling, Execution and Supply Chain.
  • Recommend the updating of the maintenance guidelines in accordance with information provided by maintenance supervisors and supplies (materials, parts, and times).
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
  • Go to morning meeting daily at 5:45am with mining dept in conference room to give them daily update on equipment. Any concerns will be discussed at this time.
  • Take care of all pickup truck services, repairs, tires, appointments at dealerships. Take care of the 5-ton truck, Kenworth float truck, & 2-ton annual safety inspections and repairs. Be sure to make a Req as soon as any unit sent out for repair.
  • Take care of all Gensets, compressors (electric and diesel), Mishi dewatering pumps, and all Mill equipment on surface, all underground and surface equipment at Mine site.
  • Locate and order all parts for any equipment. Sometimes may need to find parts without part numbers.
  • Update PM schedule and plan PMs on all equipment surface and underground.
  • Monitor and maintain ANSUL FSS monthly and 6-month inspections, keep up to date. Call in contractor and set up room and Covid 19 protocols when needed for 6-month inspections.
  • Also work with contractors to be sure their equipment is also up to date. (Pioneer, Manroc)
  • Make sure underground emission tests are completed properly monthly and then forwarded to the ventilation department.
  • Keep track of hours of any contractors brought onsite at Mill or Mine for repairing equipment and PM’s done and forward those hours monthly to the safety department.
  • Do a Monthly Activity Report on equipment big jobs and send to Dwayne Maynard before the 10th of each month?
  • Make sure all equipment hours are updated as you will need current hours at end of month to perform the month end tasks.
  • Work with Warehouse to verify parts that are needed for jobs coming up are here. Sometimes inventory parts are not there. 
  • Add parts to inventory as needed. Use proper form. Give paper copy to Dwayne. Also email it to Dwayne, Brennan and Warehouse.
  • Make sure everything is scanned daily and put into the proper folder on the “R” drive. This includes timesheets, pre op sheets, compressor sheets, Hoist mech trackless logs sheets, Mech trackless log sheets, availability sheets, Toolbox Talk Sheets, PM’s done sheets, ANSUL Checks done sheets, Contractor hour sheets and any other documents.
  • Update availability sheet daily in proper folder on “R” drive.
  • Make sure timesheets are handed in to Dwayne Maynard every 1st and 15th for his signature and then he forwards to payroll.
  • Scan daily Toolbox Talks, file, and email those to Safety Dept monthly.
  • Find and order all parts and tool replacements for Drill Doctors for maintaining Drills, Long Hole Buggy’s, and Jacklegs for mining department.
  • Make sure any new equipment has Diesel Permit, Ramp Test and Fire Suppression and all are valid and up to date before allowing underground!! Make sure we do our own commissioning sheet as well.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 
  • Five years’ experience in mobile maintenance preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in planning preferred.
  • Good math and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical understanding of mining and heavy equipment to support effective decision making in overall business management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word is a definite asset.
  • Organization skills an asset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of condition monitoring information such as oil analysis, magnetic plug inspections, and oil filter inspections. Interpret these results and form corrective action plans to minimize breakdowns and maximize value.
  • High School Diploma/Trade School.

Maintenance Planner

Hoist Mechanic/Millwright

Reporting to the Eagle River Maintenance Planner or designate, the successful candidate will perform the maintenance and repairs of all surface, underground stationary equipment, long hole buggies, compressors rock breakers and pumps at the mine site.

Manager – Asset Management & Reliability

Reporting to the Mine General Manager, the Manger of Asset Management & Reliability will be an inspirational and innovative leader responsible and accountable for operational performance excellence in the Asset Management and Reliability Department.

Process Plant Maintenance Millwright (RED SEAL CERTIFCATION REQUIRED)
  • The Millwright is responsible for doing the maintenance of the milling operation equipment.
  • Reports to Lead hand Millwright and Mill General Foreman
Chief Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine

The Chief Mine Geologist will be responsible and accountable for all work conducted by the Geology Department while ensuring the work is safe, cost effective and makes the most efficient use of manpower and materials.
