- Initiates project requests in the corporate project management software
- Responsible for opening the job folder to maintain the history of the job on the server, including QMS documentation, original Word doc, edited Word doc, translations, InDesign layouts, and final production and web-ready files.
- Generates design layouts consistent with MAPEI corporate standards
- Produces revisions, making any necessary corrections and appropriate changes requested by other MAPEI associated involved in the proofing process.
- Verifies all necessary sign-offs have been obtained.
- Provides specifications for printing.
- Prepares final artwork for printing, reviews proofs, and printed samples.
- Maintain QMS processes and instructions related to artwork production.
- Maintain design standard manual.
- Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company
- Work in an organized and well-planned process to ensure timely turnaround on projects
- Any other related tasks.
- CD in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, combined with 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Perfectly bilingual (French and English, both written and spoken)
- Understands 3D/internet/web-based applications as well as the production process including file preparation, in-press printing and bindery.
- Ability to distinguish between zones of color is an essential function of this position.
- The position requires the ability to work with a Macintosh environment. Use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, photography and 3-D animation software, Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Entourage and using the Internet, if required familiarity with electronic proofing
