To ensure timely and accurate movement of all products in and around the facility.
 
Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities
 
Including but not limited to:
 
  • Support shipping and receiving department with loading, unloading and handling of material (fork-lift, overhead crane or manually handling)
  • Support shipping and receiving department by assisting to maintain accurate inventory locations and strict enforcement of quarantines and material hold points
  • Cutting and measuring wood products for packaging using hand tools; saw, drill, air gun etc.
  • Ensure all items received into the facility are properly/safely stored in their correct locations
  • "Stage"/Pick items accurately for shop staff under the direction of department supervisor or charge hands
  • Understand daily production needs and provide material in a timely manner 
  • Ensure material movements are correctly recorded on provided documents and applicable software including but not limited to shipping, receiving or picking
  • Maintain an accurate inventory by assisting with frequent inventory counts and spot checks
  • As required, assist with receiving of inventory items into the computer database
  • Ensure all documents (shipping or otherwise) follow correct document flow and are processed in accordance with Weir guidelines and time restrictions
  • Pro-actively work to foresee problems that may arise with inventory and monitor stock levels on certain items
  • Cover for shipping and receiving staff as needed
  • Assist and support when shipping to customers as needed, preparing supplies and applying decals/tags
  • Recording job number of task worked on, applying time accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
 
Education/Experience:
Completion of High School. Previous shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment. Construction experience is an asset.    
 
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
Computer Skills:
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft windows and office products
 
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:
Forklift license is an asset.
 
Physical Requirements:
The incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use arms, hands, kneel, crawl, climb, talk and hear in order to perform the duties of this role. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to lift up to 25-50 pounds. Clear vision is required for this role.
              
Work Environment:
The incumbent performing this role will be exposed to loud manufacturing environments, where personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Occasionally, the incumbent may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. Safety measures and procedures are taken to limit hazards and ensure safety at all times.

Carries out rubber lining and hose making processes according to standard safety procedures. Fabricates and process metal and rubber components in accordance with specified instructions. 

Account Manager-Capital Projects

Reporting to the Sales Manager-Projects for the designated region, the Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing specific key accounts and Engineering Firm customers, while meeting sales objectives and identifying new business opportunities for Weir Minerals’ entire portfolio within the designated geographic territory.

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, machining centers to fabricate high speed precision ground metallic parts and components with tight tolerances and exotic materials.

The Field Engineer’s role will be to technically support our key oil sands customers. 

Handlay Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager of the Fabrication Shop, the selected candidate will supervise workers engaged on the afternoon shif.

Buyer

Perform duties required to provide strategically source and procure a wide variety of technical and non-technical materials and services from suppliers worldwide to support customer requirements.

Customer Service Rep - Inside Sales I

Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers; receives and verifies orders for Weir products.

Applications Engineer

As part of our sales departments, the Application Engineer will work collaborative with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, sales of products and aftermarket services, while ensuring that customer requirements are met.
