- Develop intimate knowledge of the customer’s process and operation.
- Develop key site relationships and be the go-to for technical support
- Available as required to attend key equipment outages, inspections and overhauls (may require weekend work).
- Identify and problem solve on site equipment related issues or improvements
- Monitor and collect operating data and wear performance on our critical Oil Sands products.
- Analyze operating and wear data, and provide inspection reports to Sales Management, Aftermarket Sales and Technology Centers (DCO).
- Drive development and support, laser scanning program innovations to boost wear data accuracy
- Working closely with Technology Center Engineering (DCO) & Applied Materials Technology Group groups to develop wear and operating improvement plans for key products.
- Provide technical information about our equipment to our customers.
- Work closely with Aftermarket Sales Account Managers to grow our Oil Sands aftermarket business, through sales presentations, client meetings, etc.
- Provide monthly updates to Management and Operations Group on key component wear life/demand and customer maintenance outage schedules, to allow inventory alignment for each major customer.
- Secure and maintain site access passes to key customer locations.

- Bachelor Degree or Technical Diploma (Example; Engineering Technologist or equivalent) in Engineering or relevant technical discipline, preferably specializing in rotating equipment designed for the Oil & Gas, Minerals or related to severe duty market segments.
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years of technical or engineering experience with preference given to candidates exposed to field service in an industrial and mining atmosphere. Ability to use various inspection instruments and hand tools with a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding. Previous slurry pump disassembly, evaluation, repair and reassembly experience would be considered an asset.
- Strong customer service, sales aptitude and clean driving record are required.
- Certified Engineering Technologist, EIT, or P.Eng designation would be considered an asset.
Carries out rubber lining and hose making processes according to standard safety procedures. Fabricates and process metal and rubber components in accordance with specified instructions.
Reporting to the Sales Manager-Projects for the designated region, the Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing specific key accounts and Engineering Firm customers, while meeting sales objectives and identifying new business opportunities for Weir Minerals’ entire portfolio within the designated geographic territory.
The Rubber Product Manager is responsible for the implementation of Weir Mineral’s Rubber Products strategy in Canada and aligning their application with WMC’s Integrated Solutions strategy.
Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, machining centers to fabricate high speed precision ground metallic parts and components with tight tolerances and exotic materials.
To ensure timely and accurate movement of all products in and around the facility.
The Field Engineer’s role will be to technically support our key oil sands customers.
Reporting to the Production Manager of the Fabrication Shop, the selected candidate will supervise workers engaged on the afternoon shif.
Perform duties required to provide strategically source and procure a wide variety of technical and non-technical materials and services from suppliers worldwide to support customer requirements.
Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers; receives and verifies orders for Weir products.
As part of our sales departments, the Application Engineer will work collaborative with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, sales of products and aftermarket services, while ensuring that customer requirements are met.
