Electrical System Designer / PLC Programmer

- Electrical design through senior assistance
- Design/specification of electrical circuits/components and materials, technical selection, sizing and evaluation of equipment and parts
- Detailed Design and CAD design completely or to support other designers/detailers in the department
- Review drawings and provide installation/assembly technical support
- Participate in Pre/Post-Design reviews
- Provide onsite project support when required. (International travel; 1-2 weeks travel at a time, possibly 1-2 times a month.)
- Customer technical support for new and existing installations
- Minimum 3 year -Dip. Eng. Technology – Electro-Mechanical or Electronics Technology
- 3 years minimum design experience with programmable logic controller programming, installation and electrical design
- Good comprehension of PLCs, programming and related hardware (Allen Bradley Products preferred)
- Working experience in automation or electrical design is a significant asset
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team (both internal and remote), including mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support
- Solid knowledge of electrical field devices. – limit switches of various types, encoders, scanners, etc.
- Good understanding of motor control and VFDs
- Fully versed in Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 or later, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work extra hours to ensure a successful project when required
- 3D CAD experience (Preferred Autodesk Inventor) is an asset, but not mandatory
- Self-motivated, driven individual with good problem solving skills
- Working experience and understanding of industrial mechanical system is a significant asset
- Organized, self-regulated and excellent time management skills required
Working in a fast paced environment you will be responsible for programming, set up and operation of our state of the art, multi-axis (four) CNC Vertical Mills and Lathes with Live Tooling, to create custom parts for our specialized equipment.
The successful candidate will possess strong electrical design skills, coupled with good mechanical understanding, to work in our engineering design office in Lindsay, Ontario.

This person will work alongside Senior Programmers to maintain and modify custom enterprise applications, with the possibility of developing new software solutions.
Working in a manufacturing environment the accounting clerk will primarily perform Accounts Receivable functions, however, will be required to assist with Accounts Payable and Payroll as needed.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Metal Fabrication
- The ability to read and properly interpret mechanical drawings
