Mid-Term Planner

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Mid-Term Planner is responsible for all mid-term mine planning activities. He/she acts a liaison for mid-term mine planning between Technical Services, Geology, Mine Operations, Mill Operations, and Finance. Rotations available.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Accountable for mid-term mine planning at the Williams underground mine and for implementing Barrick mine planning standards and Industry best practices.
  • Provide planning advice, strategies and designs that ensure production and development targets can be safely and efficiently achieved in all mining areas.
  • Provide mid-term input to short-term mine planning.
  • Focus on 3-6 months of schedule/plan.
  • Ensure that objectives of Budget plan and LOM plan are reflected in rolling 3-month plans.
  • Review upcoming exploration and grade control drilling requirements with Geology.
  • Ensure geotechnical considerations are included in the stoping sequence and development schedule.
  • Review upcoming UG projects and integrate them in the mid-range plans.
  • Update 3-month plans based on month-end actuals.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and develop solutions to remove constraints in mid-term plans.
  • Compile on a monthly basis rolling 3-month plans, consisting of summary tables, Gantt charts, and level maps; identify priorities, and chair review meetings to engage all stakeholders (Mine Operations/Projects/Engineering/Geology).
  • Use Deswik software for scheduling and visualization of mid-range plans.
  • Present rolling 3-month plans to Management for approval and sign-off.
  • Identify priorities for upcoming engineering designs to execute the mid-term plan.
  • Provide input to the Short-Term Planner for compilation of 7+21-day plans.
  • Update long-term development and stope designs in 3-month plans with detailed designs when they become available.
  • Develop a good understanding of the underground operating conditions, in order to provide safe and reasonable recommendations regarding mine planning inputs; go underground at least once monthly to visit all active mining areas.
  • Review scheduling criteria on a regular basis and update as required.
  • Ensure mid-term mine plans are issued to all stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Assist with updating mine planning procedures and standards.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining
  • Two to three years practical underground mine design and mine planning experience
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with mining software (Deswik and Vulcan) essential
  • Eligible for a license to practice Professional Engineering in the Province of Ontario
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles and a demonstrated knowledge of Canadian/American Engineering standards
  • Strong presentation and verbal skills. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization in a clear manner. Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Capability to self-manage and self-motivate
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards

Underground Surveyor

The Surveyor is accountable for supporting the Williams U/G by planning ahead and providing operations with direction and prints in all active headings. 

Underground Mine Geologist

As a member of the Technical Services and Mineral Resource Management team, the successful candidate will report to the Senior Mine Geologist and work either an 8:6 roster resident in town, or a 14:14 roster with camp accommodation and meals provided in a camp type environment. 

Supply Chain Superintendent

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and they will be responsible leading the Supply Chain function for the mine site. 

Temporary Journeyman Electricians

The Temporary Journeyman Shift Electrician is accountable to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for maintaining all surface and underground electrical systems in accordance to Company Standards, Ontario Hydro standards, Electrical Code, CSA standards and Federal, Provincial, and Company Safety regulations.

Underground Project Engineer

The Underground Project Engineer is Responsible for generating all UG projects documentation and coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects and ensure effective communication and coordination between all project participants.

Mid-Term Planner

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Mid-Term Planner is responsible for all mid-term mine planning activities.

Core Technician - 1 Year Fixed Term

Reporting to the Core Technician Coordinator, your primary duty will be to provide support in maintaining continuous operation of logging activities.

Controller

Temporary Gas Fitter - G1

Automation Mining Engineer

Accountable for the support, development, improvement, and reliability of the various facets f the mobile, exploration, development, fixed plant automation systems in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
