MILL PLANNER

Overview
 
Reporting to the Mill General Foreman, the Mill Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling mill mechanical maintenance, shut down and project work, collaborating with the Electrical and Mobile Planners, Mill Supervisors, Operators, Millwrights and Process Engineers.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Develop detailed plans, schedules, procedures and workflows to sustain and improve safe working conditions and maximum equipment availability
  • Develop, review, and revise standard maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance programs
  • Develop detailed job plans that include the identification of required resources, internal and external services, tools, equipment, materials, and procedures with estimated task durations required for completion of the work
  • Create and maintain work orders and requisitions for materials, equipment, and services in SAP, confirming that parts, specialized tools, equipment, and external labor are available prior to scheduling planned work
  • Identify critical spares and coordinate onsite inventories with Supply Chain
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as suppliers and contractors
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure cost-effective onsite inventory of maintenance parts and materials (new stock requests, min/max levels, critical spares, obsolete inventory).
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to expedite external parts and contractor labor based on needs and priorities.
  • Maintain equipment records, maintenance work records and equipment documentation
  • Update and maintain work order status’ in SAP to ensure backlog and history accuracy
  • Chair weekly maintenance planning and planned shutdown planning meetings
  • Generates maintenance department performance reports
  • Supervise millwright crews or contractors, when requested
  • All other activities as assigned by the Mill General Foreman
 
Qualifications
 
  • A degree or diploma in the mechanical field or possess a valid Inter-Provincial trade qualification certificate in a related field.
  • Minimum 5y maintenance experience in a mining environment
  • Minimum 2y use of computerized maintenance management systems, preferred
  • Clear, active communicator
  • Works effectively independently and collaboratively
  • Overall understanding of mill operations, maintenance, and the relationships between operating areas
  • Analytical and organized, with a high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experienced in the use of computerized maintenance management systems, preferably SAP and Microsoft Windows applications.
 

MILL PLANNER

Director, Sustainability

The Director, Sustainability is responsible for supporting and executing Alamos’ company-wide sustainability strategy with a focus on environmental aspects including, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting as well as stakeholder and community engagement.

Geologist (Core Logger)

Reporting to the Sr. Exploration Geologist, the Geologist will focus on carrying out exploration programs related to geological mapping, geochemical sampling programs, geophysical surveys and drilling and to ensure service and/or operating standards are met (internally and/or externally).
