CORE TECHNICIAN

- Pickup drill core from headframe/drill site, open boxes and arrange in order,
- Checking then for block footage errors;
- Cut core as per training procedure, checking for QA/QC samples;
- Complete cutting log book/sheet and complete lab analysis form;
- Palletize/dump logged and sampled core boxes
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times, ensure proper PPE and tools are used for all tasks;
- Operate forklift as per proper training, moving core skids with core or samples and other materials
- Take part in storing pulps and rejects as required;
- Assist geologists as required.
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Previous experience involved with handling and cutting drill core in a mine or exploration setting;
- Good communication skills, literacy and numeracy skills;
- Self starter with the ability to manage repetitive tasks with minimal supervision;
- Physically fit with the ability to lift upwards of 55 lbs

The Core Technician will be responsible to support the Geology departments by processing and sampling/cutting of diamond drill core.
The Assayer 1 processes Mine Production and Exploration samples for grade control providing vital information in a timely method to assist in key decision making relating to mining/geology activity and reconciling samples entering and exiting the Mill Process.
The Mine Planner/EIT will be responsible for mine planning within the 3 - 6 month planning interval.
The Assayer 2 processes Mine Production and Exploration samples for grade control providing vital information in a timely method to assist in key decision making relating to mining/geology activity and reconciling samples entering and exiting the Mill Process.
