Mine Supervisor

- The Mining Supervisor will ensure that all personnel in his/her charge know and follow the company’s policies, procedures and standards for work and safety, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
- The Mining Supervisor is responsible for the health and safety of all personnel in his/her charge as well as support and contractor personnel.
- The Mining Supervisor will set and achieve production targets in accordance with the company’s stated goals and objectives.
- The Mining Supervisor will direct service, production and development personnel and equipment to maximize their performance and production. This includes the assignment of equipment and the supervision of its use and working condition.
- The Mining Supervisor will know, be in compliance with, and apply the provision of the Collective Agreement.
- The Mining Supervisor will discipline personnel in his/her charge in a fair manner consistent with company policy.
- The Mining Supervisor will be able to manage grievances by the Union up to a 1 level.
- The Mining Supervisor will maintain an accurate shift log for the purpose of communicating reliable production and safety information, as required. The log will include explanation for the variances from target.
- The Mining Supervisor will ensure, as required, that Mine Rescue personnel are made available for training, as scheduled.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience and a minimum of 4 years of experience, with 2 years of management experience, plus experience in functions managed.
- Mining Common Core and a minimum of 5 years mining experience
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Experience with Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
- Supervisory Common Core
- Previous Technologist experience or as a Mine Supervisor.

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in a the mine.
This role functions with a high degree of autonomy and reports directly to the Manager, Mine Development, within the Mine Engineering department.
As a strategic partner, the HR Business Partner aligns business objectives with employees and management at the Canadian manufacturing facilities, and serves as a consultant to the local management teams on Human Resource related issues.
This position is primarily responsible to support Capital Sourcing for the Canadian Business Units.
The person in this position is primarily responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System at the Goderich Mine.
Responsibilities encompass operations, capital and financial reporting including variance analysis.
Following the mine plan, the Mining Supervisor is accountable for the safe, efficient and quality of work performed by the Mining Team.
