Dimensions
 
As the planner, you develop maintenance plans in order of priority for preventative, shutdown, backlog, and ad-hoc maintenance underground work activities. You incorporate asset strategies and enhance planning processes to improve service quality, data accuracy, and workplace safety.  
 
Purpose
 
 
You develop mobile equipment asset strategies, define priorities for criticality of equipment, and ensure that reliability-centered maintenance tactics are reflected in the maintenance plan. You review asset strategies when operational requirements change, as well as track and trend data to determine if your asset strategies have produced the intended results.
When preparing equipment  work packages, you carefully ensure the proper identification of the scope and coordinate with the scheduler.
Your work packages clearly identify task conditions, constraints, hazard controls, permits, labor, equipment, materials, specialized tools, services, test and handover procedures, durations, sequencing, and timing. You ensure data from completed work packages is accurately captured in order to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. You address any associated planning issues, such as operational requirements, parts availability, equipment deficiencies, inadequate work procedures, and data accuracy. You seek ways to improve work package requirements and minimize costs without sacrificing safety or quality. 
 
Essential Duties
 
  • Interface with other departments (e.g. mining and supply chain) and external stakeholders
  • Update maintenance planning documents (i.e. work packages, check lists, asset register, materials lists, etc.)
  • Record maintenance activities using SAP including Newmont’s SAP master data standards
  • Engagement of key stakeholders in development of asset strategies
  • Plan and release long-term work orders including, future reservations, parts kits and components
  • Plan and release work orders (task list, SOPs, permits, resourcing, materials, tools, equipment, costs, preliminary work, ultimate scheduling date)
  • Track weekly and monthly equipment performance and work management targets
  • develop mitigating/corrective actions to achieve the longer-term plan
  • Control expenditures to comply with Area budget
  • Align performance measures with mine's business targets/site KPIs
  • Generate KPI's via SAP Power Bi/Tableau and supporting data management systems
  • Develop asset strategies and load the maintenance program into SAP
  • Work with Reliability Engineer to identify critical spares parts list based on reliability centered maintenance (RCM) approach and review the stock levels to ensure parts are available
  • Integrate maintenance optimization with operations plan and schedules
  • Update PM requirements with feedback from supervisor and crews and data from completed work orders
  • Develop standard task list for reoccurring ad-hoc and urgent work
  • Track and expedite parts and material for long lead items
  • Define conditions when procurement of alternative supplies is permitted and apply Management of Change process
  • Specify technical criteria for acceptance of parts and materials. 
  • Establishing ratable (repairable) component inventory levels considering, fleet size and criticality, planned operating hrs., MTBF data, lead times, maturity of vendor / site
  • Monitor expenditures within your area of responsibility
  • Assist in developing a zero based budgets from the asset strategy process

Training & Experience
 
  • Certified Tradesperson
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance environment
  • One (1) year planning experience in an underground mining environment preferred 
  • Proficient in SAP preferred 
  • Ability to work in a Centralized team-based maintenance organization required
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
  • Basic Underground Common Core an Asset
 
Working Conditions
 
  • This position is located at Hoyle Pond, part of Newmont's Porcupine Mine near Timmins, ON.  
  • In this role, you will work a 5x2 schedule.  If you do not live near the site, we will require relocation.

The Senior Database Analyst is in charge of maintaining and further modifying an in-house SQL database for validating, storing, and auditing a large variety of large datasets (Production drilling, exploration drilling, sampling etc.) in support on Mine Geology, and Exploration Geology as well as Mine Operations and Mine Engineering.

Mine Surveyor

This position will be reporting to the Chief Surveyor.  Accountable for prioritizing daily tasks and providing accurate surveys and mark ups to operations and planning group in a timely manner.

Miner 4 Sump Mucker

Operates Scooptram to remove materials from underground sumps, and occasionally help with pump changes. Reports to the Upper Longhole/ Construction Supervisor at Hoyle site.

Production Geologist

Interpret, collect and compile geological information, communicate with and direct underground production crews and provide support for the Mining department, the Engineering department, for underground operations diamond drilling, for reserve/resource calculations and for data management.

Project Controls Director

Senior level position providing mentorship and leadership to definition, development of and adherence to Newmont standards for controls systems, development and policies for multiple studies and programs.

Electrical Planner
