Levitt-Safety is currently recruiting a Mobile Service Technician to provide the highest level of quality service to our customers in the repair and maintenance of Fire and Life Safety Equipment and other fire protection services. This position will involve working inside our shop as well as provide mobile services for Fire and Life safety equipment in the Ottawa Ontario area.
 
As a fully trained technician you must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
We are willing to train the right candidate who is willing to grow and pursue a career in fire and life protection services.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Inspect, install and maintain all types of Fire & Life Safety Equipment systems at various customer sites
  • Completing all required service and commissioning documentation
  • Conduct Life Safety inspections and audits, with follow-up suggestions and repairs
  • Timely and accurate completion and submission of paperwork
  • Plan work with the Supervisor to meet customer demands
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to service related problems
  • General shop duties as required
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and industry certifications
  • Be an active contributor in the ongoing development of Job Hazard Analysis’s and follow Safe Work Practices as described, and complete FLRA forms
  • Willingness to perform site-specific training for owners and end users
  • Maintaining a clean work environment within the branch service areas, service vehicles or customer locations
  • Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering would be an asset
  • Mechanically inclined with excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Background in electrical/electronics would be an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills and a team player
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract/driving record
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Kneeling, crouching, reaching above shoulder height
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Carrying and lifting of weights up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Frequent walking throughout buildings and customer sites as well as climbing up and down stairs, and standing for extended periods
