Job Description
 
Reporting to the Manager National Alternative Networks this role will be responsible for the following:
 
  • Project support, assist in equipment layout and design, standards development and auditing, process optimization and statistical analysis, used for development of trending and forecast information
  • Developing, managing and implementing multiple projects providing realistic and accurate timeline, resource requirements and activity plans
  • Facilitation of cross-functional activities with multi-level team members
  • Providing technical training and support to field personnel and Last Mile Service Providers
  • Key initiatives will also include support for the testing and implementation of new technologies, methodologies, and procedures
  • Developing process for Alternate Network
  • Identifying and driving implementation of short-term to medium-term initiatives to improve quality of service, productivity, cost, and work environment (safety)
  • Evaluating and presenting recommendations for medium-term to long-term capital intensive projects
  • Analysis of Last Mile Service Providers performance and providing recommendations for service improvements
  • Onboarding any new Last Mile Service providers
  • Project Management, assisting in equipment layout and design, standard development and auditing, process optimization and statistical analysis, used for development of trending and forecast information
  • Assisting with Peak Capacity plans by utilizing the Alternate Network
  • SHS\Oversize and Flex Capacity volume
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an engineering, project management and/or logistics position in a continuous improvement capacity
  • University Engineering Degree (industrial or manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong competency with spreadsheets, word processing, MS Project & database software
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, process mapping, Microsoft Access
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with autonomy
  • Successfully able to implement change and enhance a team based culture within a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Prior Courier / Logistics industry experience would be an asset
  • Experience in SHS\Oversize and Flex Capacity volume

AM Sorter
  • Unloading and sorting freight
  • Preload up to 5 trucks while pulling assigned freight off conveyor belt
  • Scanning/Cubing/Reweighing
Transportation Engineering Specialist - 12 Month Contract
  • Identify network opportunities, work with a cross functional group to determine appropriate solutions, model alternatives with simulation tools and ensure timely execution.
  • Analyze data to support Network & Capacity Planning, perform predictive analytics, and find network opportunities for improvement.
National Alternate Transportation Network Engineer

Material Handling Equipment Technician
  • Shift coverage of automated sorter system, timely response to system issues.
  • Performing planned / unplanned maintenance duties on automate conveyor system, like Shoe Sorter.
  • Familiar with RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), develop and conduct predictive maintenance program of electrical system/equipment
Health and Safety Field Coordindator

Reporting to the SR Consultant, Regional Health & Safety, and acting as a trusted advisor to business partners, this role will support the execution of Purolator’s health and safety program within an assigned geography.
