Schedule: 5x2, Monday – Friday
 
Position Reports To: Industrial Hygienist
 
Position Overview: The industrial hygiene technician will play a key role in the industrial hygiene program across all departments.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
 
  • Preparing and calibrating sampling equipment for field use;
  • Industrial hygiene sample collection for industrial dusts and vapours;
  • Conducting noise assessments;
  • Cataloguing hazardous materials on site;
  • Data interpretation in relation to legislative requirements;
  • Performing respirator fit testing;
  • Data entry and records administration;
  • Assisting and providing coverage for the Industrial Hygienist, when needed;
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work afternoon shifts, split shifts and weekends on some occasions.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Undergraduate degree in science or engineering or a two-year diploma in occupational health and safety with air sampling experience;
  • Knowledge of occupational health and hygiene;
  • Previous experience in mining or other heavy industry;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to adapt and manage a busy workload;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • A commitment to technical excellence;
  • Completion of, or enrollment in a post graduate occupational health and safety program is considered desirable.
 
Other Requirements
 
Candidates will be required to participate in a comprehensive qualification process, including:
 
  • Successful completion of pre-placement functional screen
  • Provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada
  • Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements
 
Compensation
 
A competitive salary, performance bonus plan and benefits will be provided.  This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

The role of Mine operations Superintendent is to oversee the safe and efficient extraction of ore through the supervision and control of mining department activities such as budgeting, planning staffing and cost control.

The Senior Mine Engineer will provide clarity and focus for the engineering group to achieve and surpass the mine’s safety and production targets and to add value to the operation. 

Construction & Engineering Superintendent

The Engineering & Construction Superintendent is expected to be a safety leader on site and thus will be required to demonstrate experience in executing work with a safety focus and an emphasis on human performance.
