Steel Production Operator

- Measure, mark, cut, form, punch and assemble steel material according to blueprint instructions.
- Operate band saw, iron worker, rolling machines, 3D tube laser, hand tools, etc.
- Inspects, labels and packages all raw and completed products.
- Records labour activities in iERP system to manage costs and schedules.
- Collaboratively & actively communicates with teammates and management to ensure customer expectations are efficiently & effectively executed.
- Applies lean manufacturing principals to every day duties.
- Participates as an integral member of the team and contributes towards the success of the Company by performing other related duties as required.
- Maintains quality manufacturing practices and processes; follows defined procedures/inspection criteria, and takes appropriate action on actual and potential problems.
- High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Able to read and interpret blue-prints and tape measures is required.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
- Overhead crane training/experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with fabrication tools including a band saw, IW, angle rollers, etc. would be considered assets.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and ISO standards are considered assets.
