Field Supervisor

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Field Supervisor leads and provides support in the field to assigned projects. The Field Supervisor works closely with Operators, Drivers and Clients to ensure that all work is completed safely and efficiently while adhering to company as well as client policies and procedures at all times.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensure all Operators are contacted and given proper directions and times to be on location
  • Plan routes by providing signage when needed to give trucks and personnel easy access to site
  • Conduct morning toolbox talks and Hazard Assessment meetings and have all personnel sign off
  • Ensure the proper tools and equipment are available to do the job safely and efficiently
  • Obtain daily bill of Ladings with all required info on it (Job #, PO#, # of Mats hauled, hours, FT# and rates)
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork and reports are filled out properly
  • Deal with customers and Operator concerns in a professional manner at all times
  • Ensure operators are keeping mat tallies daily and that they are correct
  • Communicate with Superintendents daily on job progress and duration
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained by Operators
  • Collect daily time ticket from each Operator daily and ensure that all proper information is recorded
  • Send off completed field tickets to Consultant for approval daily
  • Ensure that end of job arrangements have been made to haul equipment out
  • Ensure all paperwork, time and job packages are completed and correct, and sent to the office by job end
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate
  • Effective problem solving and conflict management skill
 
Experience Requirements:
 
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years Field work experience in Construction and/or Oilfield
  • Strong experience operating both Excavator and Loader with Thumb/Grapple
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Bridge and Matting product knowledge a definite asset
 
Education Requirements:
 
  • Courses or seminars on supervision, safety, teaching, facilitation or management an asset
  • Safety tickets an asset

Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician (Shop & Field work)

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for providing the maintenance and services needs of all Northern Mat & Bridge equipment. 

Mat Plant Labourer

Reporting to the Plant Manager & Plant Supervisor, the Mat Plant Labourer is responsible for the production in their area of the mat plant facility.

Shuttle Operator – DZ License Required

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Shuttle Operator provides support in the field with a shuttle vehicle.
