Operational Purchaser

As Operational Purchaser you will be responsible for assigned purchase order processing and inbound process monitoring related tasks in the Customer Logistics organization for North & Central America. The main purpose of the role is to support the operational purchasing actions in order to meet customer requirements and secure impeccable execution and follow-up of goods & services.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchase order creation based on purchase requisition
- Purchase order confirmation
- Purchase order expediting management based on criticality of sales
- Inbound material flow management
- Purchasing data maintenance
- Vendor performance management
- Operational level vendor on time delivery performance including vendor management and development
- Assigned actions to secure inventory health and high availability
- Conducting all business transactions consistent with Metso’s Global Procurement policies, procedures & guidelines, legal requirements, regulations, and Metso’s ethical standards
IN ORDER TO SUCCEED YOU WILL NEED
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a procurement role
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience measuring performance of activities related to procurement transactions
- Experience in an SAP/MM environment
- Proven track record of implementing new and improved standards and expectations while holding a managerial role
- Experience managing relationships with, or working knowledge of third party providers
- Experience with products in Metso’s offering is a plus
- Strong process understanding around logistics / supply chain activities
- Familiarity with ISO Quality System elements
- Native fluency in English/French
