The Technician - Field Support provides maintenance and reliability support and management role for plant and equipment regionally.
 
Key Accountabilities
 
  • Knows and adheres to relevant procedures, statutory requirements and codes.
  • Continually reassesses risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Role models the use of Orica safety systems e.g. Alteration Authorities, Permit to Work and UIRs.
  • Coordinates and completes audits
  • Ensures maintenance system adherence through influencing and motivation of site personnel.
  • Mentors staff and local service contractors in the support of Orica's Operations
  • Ensures maintenance conforms to SAP PM.
  • Support local area Site Supervisors & Fitters (if applicable)
  • Executes schedule servicing, alterations and breakdown maintenance.
  • Advises on regional critical spares management
  • Oversees critical spares purchasing including freight Investigates and implements opportunities which result in productivity improvements in plant/process and to reduce plant and MMU maintenance operating costs
  • Provides specialist equipment training
  • Provides onsite and phone based technical support Assists Asset Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor, and Operations Superintendents as required.
  • Completes complex technical AAs as agreed with Asset Superintendent.
  • Provides feedback to Asset Superintendent on common mode failures and communicate appropriate actions back to regional operations.
  • Ensures drawing and documentation integrity maintained at plants
  • Provides feedback to plants on Alteration Authorities and assist in implementation and management of change.
  • Compiles Alerts and bulletins for continuous improvement and corrective action tasks.
  • Carries out investigations as requested.

Operator - Plant (Victoria Gold)

The Operator Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO undertakes the processes/system associated with Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO production to the extent of their skill and competence and operates the manufacturing facilities safely, efficiently and effectively to address production and distribution requirements and provide a quality service in the manufacture of Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO to our customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

Driver - Explosives (Greely ON)

To ensure production occurs on a timely basis following all safety procedures and taking a pro-active teamwork approach focused on coordinating assigned machine operation and product handling functions.

Temporary Safety Advisor (Sudbury, ON)

Provides partnering support to enable excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) culture and performance through effective major hazards and critical control management, systems, standards and governance.

Production Operator (Tappen, BC)

The production operator position is physically demanding. Employees are required to work on their feet for up to 12 hours per day. Physical activities includestanding, walking, bending, kneeling and repetitive motion. Some aspects of theposition require employees to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

Temporary MMU Operator (Whitehorse, Yukon)

To operate equipment and support plant operations to provide blasting products and services to customers. To provide a quality service in the manufacture of bulk explosives to our customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

Operator - MMU (Victoria Gold, NT)

This is a general labour / driver position ensuring production occurs on a timely basis, following all safety procedures and taking a pro-active teamwork approach focused on coordinating assigned machine operation and product handling functions.
