ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle has three active properties in Nunavut. The Meadowbank open-pit mine, in operation since 2010; the Amaruq satellite deposit, which is 50 kilometers northwest of Meadowbank and the Meliadine underground mine, in operation since 2019. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d’Or and Mirabel, Quebec.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the OT Coordinator, the OT Specialist is part of the IT/OT Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Design and put in place solutions to resolve technical and global issues related to industrial IT;
Propose and design technical improvement solutions for the department;
Maintain documentation and diagrams;
Design, configure and program the different components related to a complete process control which includes but is not limited to PLCs, Wonderware component, historian and database servers;
Develop templates and support the instrumentation technician;
In collaboration with the IT/OT Analyst, maintain and optimize the entire IT/OT network and server fleet;
Participate in IT/OT reports and database designs and development;
Advise the supervisor on appropriate actions and decisions taken,
Monitor and troubleshoot automation communication networks and services (Schneider OFS),
Configure and implement automation ethernet switches and servers,
Optimize and develop OT network architecture in close collaboration with the team,
Be an active player in the conversion and deployement of automation computer and software upgrades.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
College Degree in Computer Science, Automation or equivalent experience in automated control systems design;
5+ years' experience in Industrial IT and advanced automation systems deployement;
Ability to read, modify and develop existing programming logic;
Possess deep knowledge in industrial computer virtualization and server configuration;
Strong knowledge of Ethernet networks including fiber optics, switches and communication protocols at various levels, most specifically to control system communication;
Working knowledge of software installation and computer and server configuration; familiarity with databases, SQL query tools, Wonderware and PI Historian experience is applicable;
Ability to deploy network sniffers and troubleshooting network irregularities with specilised software;
Advanced knowledge of Wonderware Archestra developping studio is an asset;
Mineral Processing and Material Handling experience is highly preferred;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val d’Or, Quebec.
