The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the successful growth of the customer base in in an established area by establishing new customers and actively servicing current customers.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for maintaining and actively servicing existing BDI customers assigned to a specific sales region. Perform various duties including product quotation and problem resolution.
  • Expected to capture new business opportunities within current customers through numerous strategies such as new product introduction, account targeting, and marketing current product lines.
  • Will identify, and actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the current customer base by working with management in developing sales strategies and new account targeting.
  • Expected to work closely with suppliers to service customers.
  • Expected to be highly versed in Microsoft Outlook and use it extensively to schedule and report responsibilities.
  • Required to continuously document cost savings for customers and BDI.
  • Responsible for working within a branch when needed to fulfill a need such as filling in for an inside sales representative.
  • Responsible for Standard Selling Time.
  • Responsible for business planning and forecasting.
  • Responsible for other duties as they are assigned.
 
Education & Experience:
 
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required. 
  • 3-5 years in a sales environment a must, with additional experience in the Industrial Supply Industry required. 
  • The successful candidate must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills to be successful. 
  • Individual must be highly self-motivated with the ability to motivate others. 
  • Must possess a high degree of Mechanical aptitude and the ability to organize and multi-task. 
  • Strong product knowledge of bearings and power transmission also a must.
  • The candidate should have an understanding of BDI’s business model with high exposure to business management and or business management education. 
  • Possession of a firm understanding of not only product knowledge, but application and pricing of BDI products as well highly recommended.

Expeditor

The Expeditor is responsible for the planning and procurement of products to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels. 

Belt Technician

The Belt Technician will perform a variety of duties to customize heavy duty belts and rubber components to customer specifications. 

Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records of supplier invoices and accounts, as well as the proper assignments of disbursements to the appropriate cost center.
