PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
 
The purpose of this role will be to perform and supervise all activities necessary to process payroll, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports, voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures and preparing special reports for management.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
 
Supervising Payroll Assistants
Tax reporting
Payroll system maintenance
Researching and preparing special reports for management
Process payroll from pre-payroll through final update
Processing involuntary deductions (levies, garnishments, child support)
Managing Taxable Fringe Benefits
Managing the Runzheimer Program
Month End Accruals
W2 preparations
Have a customer service focus
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
Previous Related Work Experience Required
One to three years of supervisory payroll experience
Experience with JD Edwards preferred but not required
 
Education Required
 
High school diploma
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
FPC or CPP preferred but not required 
 
Special Skills and/or Knowledge Required
 
Knowledge of payroll tax law
Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
Ability to supervise
 
Special Equipment/Computer Knowledge Required
 
Basic Excel skills
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
Ability to operate related hand held calculators and related experience in report development in
ERP class systems (JDEdwards, Essbase, GL Inquiry) would be considered an asset
