Job Description:
The Peterborough office is currently recruiting for a Project Technologist to conduct hazardous building materials assessments, mould and IAQ investigations and provide construction inspection and testing on asbestos and mould remediation projects. A significant portion of the work will be conducting asbestos assessment work at a large industrial facility on a rotation basis.
Responsibilities & Attributes:
- On-site inspection of hazardous material removal work, removal of mouldy building materials during renovation and demolition activities.
- Collection of air samples and PCM analysis
- Preparing typed reports and drawings detailing the findings and recommendations of on- site inspections
- Performing hazardous building materials, mould and IAQ assessments
- Maintaining quality control by ensuring accuracy in reporting and sample collection
- Maintenance and development of existing client relationships
Qualifications:
- College Diploma in Construction Technology or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering
- Experience with building construction or maintenance is necessary
- Strong experience with AutoCAD required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reports
- Candidates must possess a high level of oral and written communication skills which are essential to the position. This position involves some work related travel therefore, a valid driver’s license, insurance and personal vehicle is required (work related travel expenses will be compensated).
