JOB DESCRIPTION
Anvil International & Smith Cooper International is seeking a Plant General Accountant. The General Accountant will support the financial reporting of the BECK and JBSmith organizations. She/he will be responsible for analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred; Compile and prepare analysis and reports of accounting activity and data; Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and reconciliations.
Additional Functions:
- Analyze company operations to determine cost effectiveness of individual operations, departments and contracted services to make appropriate recommendations. Monitor and follow up on changes to ensure results are related to forecast and the changes meet needs of company.
- Review results of operation after period close and resolve discrepancies and problems as necessary. Responsible for general ledger transactions and reconciliation.
- Prepare/revise monthly forecasts and annual budget.
- Analyze and prepare Capital appropriations. Track post implementation performance.
- The General Accountant is a junior level position. The position is based in Waynesboro, PA and will REQUIRE travel to Houston TX on a monthly basis.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Requires both General Accounting and Cost Accounting knowledge
- Knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of AS/400 system
- Available to travel to Houston, TX on a monthly basis
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting within a Manufacturing environment.
