Overview:
 
Process Engineering Technician identifies plans and conducts activities related to improving existing processes or developing new processes in the entire facility.  Consideration of all the process elements, including workforce, equipment, materials, quality, time, customer specifications, and costs are evaluated to assure satisfactory project results.
 
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration of processes to assure the quality of product or component. Reviews customer specifications to determine if the product or processes meets the customer specification requirements
  • Collects and analyzes data, applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing information to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Develops the information and justification for writing and submitting capital appropriation requests for equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Specifies and orders tooling, and equipment associated with process modifications and new processes or products
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during process and quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve and error-proof the processes and products
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the TS16949 Quality System standards and components.  Assists with compliance, formulation, and revision of policies and procedures.  Develops information for PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry standards regarding environmental, health, and safety.  Assists with compliance, formulation, and revision of policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
 
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Proficient math skills
  • Good reading and listening skills
  • Legible hand writing
  • Prefer knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint software
 
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
 
  • Corrected vision to 20/20 being able to clearly see objects at long or short distances and be able to see details in small objects and read fine print
  • Able to visually distinguish colors accurately
  • Occasional manual lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Able to lift and carry by hand various tools, materials, containers usually small to moderate in size
  • Active walking with irregular periods of standing and infrequent sitting or leaning
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment required for job duties and required tasks
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Frequent tasks involving walking, standing, squatting and bending are required
  • Work overtime hours as scheduled.  Extra or extended shifts may be required daily or weekly
