We are currently looking to add a Product Manager - Drills to our Hard Rock Group at our Sudbury, Ontario location
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Provides training and education on the product range, product application, assisting with the compilation of tender documentation, pricing strategies, and the supply of marketing material to support sales efforts.
  • Initiate and execute on VOC initiatives for product development, continuous improvement and general market research.
  • Visits key customers in conjunction with the sales team to provide in depth product knowledge. Assist the aftermarket teams to expedite the trouble shooting of technical problems.
  • Working with the factory product support teams, assist the regional aftermarket teams to expedite the trouble shooting of technical problems.
  • Drive initiatives focused on defining the product value for marketing and sales training and literature.  (i.e. Field Studies, TCO modeling, etc.).
  • Research knowledge of the product market and how Komatsu Mining is positioned.
  • Working with engineering, monitor underground drills new product development projects and product trial and testing results for new products to implement improvement of the product.
  • Provide content direction and assist with the development and implementation of advertising and promotional activities and programs.
  • Identify and execute on potential process improvements (i.e. Sales Forecast, Pricing, Product Development, Product Configuration, VOC, VOB, etc.).
 
Education / Qualification
 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Technical aptitude is required.
  • 1-5years of experience in business development, product management, product development, or product marketing of mining equipment is required.
  • Direct mining/equipment application experience with similar equipment is a benefit.
  • Knowledge of the customers/market in mining operations is desired.
  • Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills with an ability to demonstrate confidence in material knowledge and convey product information to a broad audience with varying levels of product capability.
  • Strong business acumen with analysis skills, high level presentation skills is required.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to prepare data metrics, strategic level presentations, training materials.
  • Ability to travel globally to customer sites and Komatsu Mining sales offices, dealers offices.

The Controls and Systems Engineering Manager, Undreground Drills is responsible to ensure the systems design for underground drills meets safety, quality and cost standards while driving continuous improvement as part of a global business intergrated engineering team.
