Overview:
 
A Production Supervisor provides direction, instructions, and guidance to the team, for the purpose of achieving daily production goals.
 
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Coach and help develop team members, providing job knowledge and advice. Including training and documentation.
  • Motivate and inspire team members
  • Provide guidance, instruction and direction for the purpose of achieving daily output results
  • Trouble shooting machines and assist in evaluating problems. Suggest possible solutions
  • Safety – insure that all team members are supplied with the proper PPE’s and are using them in accordance to the job requirement.  Complete Safety checks/audits of equipment throughout the production process. IE; forklift inspections, crane inspections. 
  • First responder for medical emergencies trained in CPR, AED, and First Aid
  • Quality – responsible for  setting high standards and quality standards are maintained.
  • Report issues /problems immediately to shift leader
  • Communicate with other departments
  • Check finished products to ensure products are produced to standards.  
  • Ensure that materials / work orders are at machines
  • SAP notifications are monitored and updated daily
  • Must perform any and all other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Work overtime as required
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Two to five years of experience in a leadership capacity within manufacturing with shift or area ownership required.
  • Two-Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Ability to grow relationships with business partners and to lead, coach and develop employees.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead organizational initiatives and change
  • Time management, delegation, and organization skills with strong problem-solving ability
  • Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification preferred.
  • Prior experience with TPM a plus!
  • Increase in responsibilities over time, reflected in new work assignments, career advancements, and larger scope of work.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite applications; SAP experience a plus.
  • Grasp of financial factors related to operations performance.
  • Understanding of production processes.
