Education/Credentials:
• B.Sc. (Geology or Earth Science) minimum, M.Sc. preferred
• Registered Professional Geoscientist with PGO (or other affiliation)
• Industry-standard GIS and 3D modelling experience in one or more of the following would be an asset: QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Leapfrog, Geosoft Target.

Reporting to the CEO, the Project Geologist is responsible for planning, supervising, and reporting various exploration activities, managing field operations and training, mentoring and managing staff. Under the guidance of the Chief Geologist, the Project Geologist will participate in all aspects of mineral exploration, from project planning to the reporting of exploration results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the execution of exploration programs and contribute to data collection as required (core logging, field and trench mapping, QA/QC monitoring).
• Ensure that all personnel follow and maintains the established QA/QC protocols and mineral exploration best practices.
• Ensure the consistency and repeatability of the geological data entered in the logging and field mapping systems.
• Contribute to the generation and identification of exploration targets and select the methods to test exploration targets adequately.
• Conduct inspections of drill sites prior, during, and after drilling has been completed.
• Assist with tracking, managing, and reporting on all activities related to drilling, including daily and monthly reporting of drilling statistics, samples and results.
• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Mining Act, and all other applicable government and Company standards and regulations.
• Communicate and provide direction/instructions to the diamond drilling contractor.
• Manage staff and contractors on-site, including scheduling & invoicing.
• Assist core technicians with geotechnical logging, sample preparation, and the movement and management of core.
• Support and supervise the development of geologists in training.
• Prepare Assessment and Technical reports, including the creation of maps and figures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least five (5) years of experience in mineral exploration
• Registered or ability to be registered as a professional geoscientist in Ontario with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO)
• Ability to integrate and interpret geoscience data collected using different methods to generate exploration targets.
• Prior experience with contractor engagement and coordination.
• Knowledge of laws governing mineral exploration in Ontario.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to complete extensive fieldwork in difficult terrains.
• Proficiency in QGIS, ArcGIS and Leapfrog.
• Good team player.
• Good sense of organization and attention to detail
• Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving and time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work alone.
• Valid Drivers License.
• First Aid and ATV/UTV certification would be an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• The role is located at the SPJ Project, which is approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
• Depending on where the applicant resides, the rotation will be either 5:2 (10 hours/day) or on a flexible 2 week on and 2 weeks off schedule (12 hours/day) which includes two travel days, if applicable.
