Scope of Position
 
The Regional Manager is responsible for establishing PERI as the largest and most competent player in the formwork market as well as managing the Branch operations to maximize profitability. In addition, the position sets and monitors individual targets for Technical Sales Consultants, ensures the quality of sales processes and staff, and ensures adequate sales process for large and/or complex projects.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
 
Market Strategy 
  • Develop growth strategy in the market
  • Define and implement detailed market approach for existing and new markets: customers / segments / products / regions
  • Monitor market and competitive environment

 

Branch Operations

  • Manage the Branch operations to maximize profitability, including: Sales, Engineering,  Operations and Logistics
  • Responsible for branch P & L and budgets
  • Utilize internal reporting tools to optimize branch financial performance 
  • Recruit, coach, motivate and develop an effective team in achieving the Branch’s financial/operational goals
  • Ensure all staff are trained and that their skills levels are developed
 
Sales Operations Supervision 
 
  • Lead the sales team in all daily operations
  • Lead proposal management: scope, conditions
  • Ensure Responsibility Matrix is followed
  • Ensure standard contract, credit check, contract detail sheet are adhered to
  • Coordinate project start-up (Engineering, Logistics)
  • Monitor project execution: invoicing, charges, scope, communication with other departments
  • Monitor project closeout
  • Authorize credits
  • Manage and develop key customer accounts and negotiations
  • Train, coach and develop sales staff
 
Sales Pipeline Management 
 
  • Oversee bidding activities, ensure compliance with strategy and material availability
  • Monitor job pipeline and forecast material needs
  • Ensure use of PERItrack among Technical Sales Consultants
  • Monitor projects regarding material (status, material needs, returns, closeouts)
  • Coordinate project start-ups and monitor project execution and close-outs
 
Special Projects Sales Support 
 
  • Support proposal and contract design for large / complex projects, in particular ACS
  • Guide adequate project monitoring
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Maintain the highest standards of workplace health and safety by:

  • Understanding the Occupational Health & Safety Act and safety responsibilities identified in DR2 PERI Health & Safety Management System
  • Leading Health and Safety initiatives 
  • Ensuring that employees are adhering to all established health and safety policies / procedures
  • Ensuring that all employees are aware of potential hazards associated with the workplace, equipment and environment and establishing control measures for hazards
  • Addressing all employee reports of hazards / incidents / accidents in a timely and effective manner
  • Conducting incident / accident / near miss investigations in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensuring any reports of workplace violence and harassment are addressed immediately and effectively
  • Assuming accountability for any and all branch H&S issues and holding direct reports accountable for their responsibilities
  • Taking every precaution reasonable for the protection of all workers and visitors
 
Qualifications and Requirements
 
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a degree in civil engineering or related field
  • 8+ years’ experience in technical sales, business development and sales management
  • Experience in the construction industry preferably with formwork and scaffolding systems;
  • Strong technical background in formwork and scaffolding systems;
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience leading a sales team and/or a Branch; 
  • Strong ability to manage, motivate and train;
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills;
  • Strong decision making skills; 
  • Strong conflict resolution skills; 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing direct reports; 
  • Strong process management skills; 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity; 
  • Managerial courage and organizational agility; 
  • Must be bilingual in the French and English languages; 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well experience with AutoCAD
