Responsibilities

 

The Regional Product Manager – Crushing & Conveying position is a leadership role designed to provide the region with technical expertise specific to the crushing and conveying product line. Primarily this individual will be responsible for interfacing with direct customers, account managers and distributors regarding parts and service needs to support the regions sales and growth strategy; as well as liaising with the Joy Global engineering, manufacturing, and material handling groups. This position will report through the Kilgore, TX business office and will be responsible for providing sales and product support throughout the region.

Responsibilities:
• Support and implement strategic sales initiatives developed by the crushing and conveying products group.
• Work closely with the regional operations team, corporate engineering, quality, manufacturing and purchasing to provide effective solutions regarding observed and reported product challenges.
• Analyze technical issues and recommend potential solutions or product enhancements to address product performance issues.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and strategic plans to maintain the company’s competitive advantage and ensure long term profitability.
• Ensure equipment sales and product margin targets align with corporate strategy.
• Liaise with customers, Joy Global Account Managers, Service Manager and other key individuals to identify potential sales opportunities.
• Prepare and present customer proposals and product presentations.
• Prepare and negotiate final product pricing and determine possible package discounts on major contracts.
• Complete field conveyor audits and develop reports and present equipment findings and recommendations.
• Manage component delivery schedules with applicable manufacturing location.
• Provide sales forecasts to project future business volumes .
• Provide product manufacturing forecasts to meet customer requirements and delivery expectations.
• Provide product specific training as required to internal and external customers
• Coordinate to factory for additional support and coordinating information flow

Qualifications

 

Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Prior technical sales experience with the ability to analyze a regional market, local competition, and devise strategic sales plans to maintain existing customer relationships and secure strategic growth opportunities.
• The ability to analyze existing inventory levels and forecast parts and product needs based on projected customer demand.
• A thorough product understanding relative to technical terminology, methods of production, industry research, CEMA standards and accepted engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively manage internal and external relationships (this includes the ability to effectively deliver product presentations, resolve customer issues, identify technical challenges, expedite internal processes, negotiate parts and service sales, etc . . .).
• Ability to interpret Computer Aided Designs and production drawings, procedures, standards and equipment manuals. • A clean driving record and the ability to travel 60% of the time with 40% of overnight stays.
