The asset management group (AMG) acts as a shared internal service primarily to the Brand business unit, and secondarily to the consumer, enterprise, and media business units within Rogers. Our principle function is to take a consolidated view of all available external and internal assets and develop market-leading media and advertising strategies to serve business priorities.  Simply put, we are tasked with putting our promotional assets to best-use in support of the One Rogers go-to-market strategy.
 
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION
 
A truly unique opportunity to play a key leadership role on a team comprised of internal/external media planners, digital experts and embedded media partners.  The right candidate for this position will be excited and inspired by the opportunity to build best-in-class, strategic, and innovative media plans working with one of the country’s largest budgets, and most dynamic portfolio of brands and media assets.
 
The Senior Media Manager is responsible for the overall media strategy and execution for his/her internal brand partner group. In conjunction with the Director of Brand Media Planning, and with the support of our agency partner, he/she will actively participate in the maintenance of standards for all the functions of their respective group including philosophies, systems and procedures.
 
The Senior Media Manager will be the lead contact with counterparts on the internal Rogers brand team and have oversight and accountability for the success of his/her agency support team Although based at Rogers, the hybrid nature of this role requires close connection with the agency team and significant time spent at/with our agency partners.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Consistently deliver strategically-sound, results-driven, media recommendations with a focus on market-leading innovation

  2. Lead media partner and strategic advisor to assigned brand team(s) with joint focus on departmental goals

  3. Steward the integrated marketing communications process and ensure those principles have been applied in the media planning process

  4. Maintain fiscal accountability over brand budget allocations and annual spend commitments

  5. Train and mentor an extended team of internal and external media planners
  6. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of reports/analyses to brand team partners

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum 8 years of experience in media planning at an accredited agency

  2. Advanced cross-channel planning knowledge including established and emerging digital channels

  3. Previous experience working with large, complex brands and budgets

  4. Proven track record of both innovative and results-driven planning

  5. Experienced manager with a least 4 years of team-leadership  experience

  6. Comfortable working in a fast paced environment in the Media & Communications field

  7. Excellent client service skills with the ability to service multiple stakeholders simultaneously

  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – prepared to communicate frequently and effectively in groups, presentations and in writing

  9. Familiarity with the Rogers brands an asset

  10. Post-secondary education in marketing or advertising
