We are seeking Registered Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses in the GTA area to become an important member of the on-site medical team for one of our clients. This position plays an important role in the overall success of the organization and requires professionalism, accuracy, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and flexibility in working hours.

DriverCheck conducts over 250,000 medical tests annually, offering alcohol and drug testing, occupational health services, fatigue management, and injury management programs.
 
The primary function of this position is to provide temporary coverage for the project or clinic site. You will provide first aid and emergency medical services, conduct comprehensive health assessments and manage the occupational injury and illness process.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • COVID-19 Screening and Testing
  • Influenza Clinics
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing
  • Audiometric and Spirometry testing
  • Physical Demands Assessments
  • Provide appropriate PPE for potential at risk personnel
  • Maintain appropriate cleaning and sanitation protocols
  • Provide nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Be committed to professional practice and persona development
  • Work relatively independently, but will also work collaboratively with the client company
  • Manage and remain calm within an unpredictable fast (or slow) paced environment as required
  • Assist with the development and implementation of baseline or periodic health surveillance program
  • Document and report compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Code and/or OSHA
  • Collaborate with other health and safety professionals to establish and promote injury prevention, wellness programs and initiatives
  • Customer service and relations as appropriate
 
About you and your skills:
 
  • Must be licenced and a member in good standing
  • Must have knowledge of the college’s standards of practice, Primary Health Care, and Advanced Knowledge in assessment, diagnosis and health care management
  • Must have CPR and AED
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to work effectively across multiple functional areas and various professional disciplines
  • Have superior interpersonal, communication and public relations skills
  • Demonstrates excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Valid drivers licence and reliable transportation as this role could require travel within the region
