We have an immediate need for security guards to work at our RCMP client sites. If you are an experienced, motivated and qualified security professional with a great attitude we would like to hear from you.
Overview
RCMP National Headquarters has several sites located throughout the national capital region where we provide property protection and campus security.
Duties:
• Meet and greet visitors and RCMP staff members
• Access Control, Reception, Gate Houses entry points
• Respond to inquiries in line with site access protocols
• Ensure confidentiality for RCMP staff members and campus personel
• Maintain a safe environment for all personnel and public on campus or any of the regional properties.
• Direct visitors to specific areas of the site based on the purpose of the visit and in compliance with site access protocols
• Maintain security policy for protection of people and property
• Monitor Building Alarm Systems (Fire Life Safety, Security & CCTV)
• Respond to emergency situations as required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• A valid Ontario Guard Licence (OGL) or be able to obtain one
• Able to obtain a RCMP clearance
• Be of good character, sound mind, trustworthy and reliable
• Hold a valid Driver’s License
• Available & willingness to work shifts on a regular rotation (overnights, evenings and weekends)
• Able to work 12 hr shifts
• Fit and able to walk, patrol and respond within a campus setting
• Able to work inside, outside standing and sitting as needed for the post assignment
• Excellent communication skills in French and English
• Intermediate computer skills
• Exceptional customer service focus
• Above average observation and report writing skills
• Comfortable with and able to multi-task
• Good judgment and decision making ability
This position requires candidates to undergo an RCMP Clearance Process, which requires:
• 10 years of verifiable employment and addresses
• Thorough and intense investigation of past activities, associations and your character
• Examination of vices, dishonesty, and financial status
