NORDMIN ENGINEERING USA, INC., a division of Nordmin Group of Companies, is currently seeking a highly-skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Salt Lake City team.
 
The Role:
 
This full-time position is responsible for analyzing and designing structural components of industrial facilities for the mining industry based upon site reviews in the field. The successful candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, be a team player and have a willingness to learn continuously. This interactive role must engage with various departments and clients.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
• Develop effective designs, details, drawings, and specifications for industrial components of a mine site.
• Coordinate with various entities, including the project team, contractors, clients and other consultants to ensure work meets engineering standards, codes, specifications and design requirements per the client’s specifications and needs.
• Maintain internal quality control for all drawings,design calculations and specifications for technical accuracy, conformance to project requirements, and overall constructability.
• Work with the PM team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and under budget.
• Maintain organized documentation of design files, drawings, and construction submittals.
• Provide construction assistance and respond to Requests for Information as necessary.
 
Education and Experience Requirements:
 
• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university is required. Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience is preferred. Mining experience is desired.
• Must possess a PE license in the state of Montana or have eligible NCEES profile to obtain licenses.
• AutoCAD experience required. Familiarity with 3D design software such as Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, S-Frame, and STAAD is a plus.
• MSHA certification desired.
• Experience with foundation drawings, rebar and support layouts, and structural steel is desired.
• Good mechanical aptitude as well as creativity in solving problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel office and general computer navigational skills.
• Quality-oriented and safety conscious.
• Performance of general administrative duties and services as required.
• US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
