Senior Engineer, SR&ED Services (Across Canada)

With over 15,000 successful projects approved by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), BIG is an industry leader in providing reliable and accurate SR&ED claim preparation services.As we continue to grow, we have the following areas of opportunity in the Southern Ontario and Toronto Areas for suitable contracted technical SR&ED consultants.
• mechanical engineering, tooling, machinery, and manufacturing
• chemical engineering, chemical manufacturing, and food industry
• IT, software, and electrical engineering
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Client management through the SR&ED claim process and throughout the year
• Work with clients to identify eligible SR&ED activities and costs to claim;
• Interview relevant client personnel to obtain project and activity information needed for the technical report, collect relevant supporting information;
• Draft SR&ED technical reports and costing notes;
• Provide any relevant personnel and costing information to BIG costing staff in a timely manner;
• Coordinate with BIG quality control to finalize the SR&ED claims;
• If the claim is subject to any Canada Revenue Agency Request for Information or on-site review, assist and support the client through this process;
• Provide training, support, consultation, etc. to the client as needed to improve the client’s SR&ED project identification, tracking, preparation, and evidence
Qualifications and Attributes:
• minimum 5 years SR&ED experience and/or minimum 8 years industry experience outside of SR&ED
relevant post-secondary education
relevant post-secondary education
• have strong technical writing and communication skills
• excellent client management and self-management skills
