Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, working a four (4) day on three (3) day off rotation or an (8) day on six (6) day off rotation at the mine site, the successful candidate will be in charge of Lac des Iles Mine’s medium to long term planning and scheduling. Incorporating recent and future exploration results, the incumbent will evaluate mining opportunities and determine appropriate mining methods to shape the future of the operation.
 
Responsibilities:
 
· Produce a long term plan that is feasible and meets the fiduciary commitments of the company
· Produce and maintain Life of Mine plans
· Perform economic analysis for new mining areas
· Evaluate and propose optimized mining methods
· Provide direction and leadership to onsite technical staff
· Cooperate with all members of the technical team to obtain the most efficient mine plan
· Present plans to different work groups
· Support annual budgeting process
· Utilize Deswik to develop mine plans
· Support FEL studies for future mine expansions
· Participate in strategic planning of operation
· Miscellaneous duties reasonable and beneficial as the department requires
 
Qualifications:
 
Education and Training
 
· 7 - 10+ years mine planning experience with multiple mining methods (required)
· Degree in Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution
· P.Eng in Ontario or the ability to transfer credentials within one year (preferred)
· Underground mining experience
· Functional knowledge of geotechnical principals
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
 
Administrative Skills
 
· Proficient with technical computer programs, technical writing, experience in all office based software, and a strong ability to conduct data analysis. High attention to detail, effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize and attentive to time management
 
Interpersonal Skills
 
· Ability to work independent, self-motivated, dependable, responsible and flexible. Ability to work effectively on a team, assess problems promptly and resolve or inform supervisor where appropriate
 
Work Environment
 
· Work is generally performed in an office environment, keyboard and computer mouse. Some exposure to the mine. Prolonged sitting.
 
Safety Responsibilities
 
· Compliance to Impala Canada safety, health and environmental policies and systems. Assure adherence to the highest standards of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for myself and my team

Electrical Maintenance Planner

Reporting directly to the Planning/Reliability General Foreman, the Electrical Maintenance Planner is responsible for liaising between Engineering, Operations and Maintenance groups to ensure the maximum use of Maintenance resources while minimizing interruptions to Operations and Production. 

Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor

Working a fourteen (14) day on fourteen (14) day off rotation at the mine site, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the Fixed Plant Maintenance Crews, while ensuring they work in a safe and productive manner at Lac des Iles Mine.

Safety Coordinator

LDI mine is looking for a motivated individual to join our Safety team. Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, you will work an 8 days on / 6 days off schedule at the Lac des Iles Mine site.

Senior Long Range Planning Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, working a four (4) day on three (3) day off rotation or an (8) day on six (6) day off rotation at the mine site, the successful candidate will be in charge of Lac des Iles Mine’s medium to long term planning and scheduling. 

Mill Operations Supervisor

Reporting to the Mill General Foreman on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the Mill Operations Crews, while ensuring they work in a safe and productive manner at Lac des Iles Mine.

Miner 2 Production – Long Hole Blaster
  • They must demonstrate the skills to prepare for long-hole blast following cleaning and loading prints, selecting blasting agents, operating loading equipment, loading holes, determining firing sequence, blasting the face and perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.
Miner 2 Production – Operate Remote LHD
  • They must demonstrate the skills to operate and maintain various LHD’s on remote control, inspecting Draw-Points “Safe Limit Lines”, Remote Stands, handling oversize muck, secondary blasting and perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.
Miner 3 Production – Operate LHD, Haul Truck
  • They must demonstrate the skills to operate and maintain various LHD and haul trucks and perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.
Trades 1 (HD Mechanic)
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all on-site mobile equipment (surface heavy equipment, underground equipment and all service vehicles).
Trades 1 (Millwright)
  • Service, repair and perform routine preventative maintenance on all stationary equipment on site, including hoisting and underground
  • Direct and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions with all plant related equipment
